Welcome to World Allegiance - Don't change any of your current allegiances... just develop a overriding World Allegiance on top of all the others...

Once we saw our small planet from space via our astronaut’s eyes and the pictures were sent back to earth, we were given the first glimpse of a new mandate – that we are just not responsible for our family or our community or our country, but equally as important – we are responsible for the health and care of our planet as well.

Why do we fight? This short film outlines how wars are created and shows what may be in store for the future.

What have our great statesmen and scientists thought about the situation of our modern world - and possible remedies for the current human condition?  Here are a few of my favorite quotes...

Albert Einstein:
"A world government with powers adequate to guarantee security is not a remote ideal for the distant future.  It is an urgent necessity if our civilization is to survive."

Ancient American Proverb:
"We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."

Winston Churchill:
"Unless we establish some form of world government, it will not be possible for us to avert a World War III in the future."

John F. Kennedy:
"We must create worldwide law and law enforcement as we outlaw worldwide war and weapons."

William Penn (Quaker):
"Peace requires Justice; Justice requires Law; Law requires Government, not only within Nations, but equally between Nations."

Ronald Reagan:
"The founders of the United Nations sought to replace a world at war with a world of civilized order.  They hoped that a world of relentless conflict would give way to a new era, one where freedom from violence prevailed...  But the awful truth is that the use of violence for political gain has become more, not less, widespread in the last decade."

"People do not make wars; governments do."

Thomas Paine:
"My country is the world, my religion is to do good, and all men are my brothers."

Mikhail Gorbachev:
"There is an increasing awareness of the need for some form of global government."

Here is a neat video I found from the poet Rumi. He describes himself as not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu, Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion or cultural system. I am not from the East or the West...

Here is another video I ran across which I thought was appropriate - essentially why we are so desperate for world peace...
